Halyard appoints new Sales Director

Halyard, the global designer and manufacturer of marine exhaust systems announces the appointment of a new Sales and Marketing Director.

Rob Wilder will develop Halyard’s UK and international sales strategy, international distributor networks and strategic partnerships.

Richard Summers, Managing Director of Halyard comments, “Rob brings extensive experience of the composite and marine industry, technical engineering knowledge and relevant market insight. He joins Halyard at an exciting time as we continue to consolidate our market position, develop critical partnerships and explore new market opportunities."

Rob will be responsible for leading the sales team and working with international production boat builders, individual designers and managers of custom-built superyachts. He will work closely with Halyard’s international distributors to deliver marine exhaust systems for use in workboats, ferries and military vessels.

Rob joins Halyard from Formax UK Ltd, a carbon fibre and e-glass manufacturer, where as the Sales and Marketing Director he led the sales strategy for automotive, marine, wind energy and industrial sectors in the UK, Europe, USA and Australasia.

Commenting on his appointment Rob says, “The team at Halyard are design and engineering specialists that create, project-manage and support the delivery of often complex, bespoke systems to make engines quieter, improve working conditions for crew and reduce the environmental impact of exhaust emissions. With a passion for the use of composites and the marine industry, I am delighted to join Halyard.”

Rob started his sales career selling coatings, epoxy resins and antifouling in the yacht and small vessel sector for Courtaulds Coatings (International Yacht Paint) in Hong Kong, before moving to SP Systems (now Gurit) as a Marine Sales Engineer responsible for sales of composite materials to the custom boat sector in the UK, Europe and South Africa. He moved to Advanced Composites Group Ltd (Now Cytec Ltd) where he was promoted from Marine Sector Manager to European Sales Manager overseeing the sales of prepreg resins and adhesives across a number of market sectors including aerospace, automotive, marine, wind energy, industrial and sports goods.
